Wir essen alles gern, dass aufgetischt wird zu Weihnachten. Äpfel haben wir immer im Kühlschrank. Die kommen in alle moeglichen Gerichte herein. „an apple a day, keeps the doctor away“. „Der Bratapfel“ war gut aufgesagt! Ich habe das Gedicht nie gehoert.
Kennt ihr denn Bratäpfel als Speise? Die sind sehr lecker. Man sticht das Kerngehäuse raus und wir füllen sie dann immer mit Marzipan und Nougat. Nach dem Backen im Ofen werden sie noch heiß mit viel Vanille-Sauce serviert. Ich glaube hier hat jeder sein eigenes Rezept zum füllen der Bratäpfel.

Meine Tante hatte einen Mann in der Bruedergemeinde geheiratet. Meine Cousine war in meinem Alter und ich ging mit ihr jeden Tag zur Spielschule in der Kirche mit. Es war eine alte Dame, die Gemeindeschwester war, und die Kinder hatten sie sehr gern. Im Winter brachte jedes Kind einen Apfel mit, der in den Ofen gelegt wurde und zu Mittag als Bratapfel gegessen wurde. Als wir dann einen neuen Ofen zu Hause bekamen, der eine Grude hatte, legte meine Mutter auch Brataepfel herein. Die wurden mit Butter und Zimt, Cardamom, Zucker, und Nelken innen ausgefuehlt, und später auch mit Vanille Sosse gegessen. Hier haben wir auch schon Bratäpfel gemacht. Wir werden sie mal auch mit Marzipan oder Nugat ausstopfen, ist eine sehr gute Idee. Tante Uta
